Migrant charged with sexual attack of kid later being exempt


A Guatemalan guy illegally living in the US was once arrested through immigration government closing life on uncertainty of sexually assaulting a kid in Rhode Island later he was once exempt from native custody.

Felix Meletz Guarcas, 45, was once exempt from the Rhode Island Section of Corrections regardless of an immigration detainer request from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to book him till federal government may just whisk him into custody, ICE stated.

A detainer requests that native government notify immigration brokers when an unlawful migrant suspect is because of be exempt, so federal government can whisk the individual into custody to begin deportation lawsuits. 

“We use immigration detainers as public safety tools,” Enforcement and Removing Operations (ERO) Boston appearing Ground Place of business Director Patricia Hyde stated in a remark. “We asked the Rhode Island Department of Corrections to hold Meletz Guarcas so we could take him into custody in their facility, but he was released to home confinement.”

“Unfortunately, the Department of Corrections doesn’t turn over home confinement releases, so a team of our officers were forced to arrest him in a public parking lot in Cranston, rather than a controlled environment in a custodial setting,” he added.

It’s no longer identified when Meletz Guarcas illegally entered the U.S., ICE stated. 

On Feb. 16, 2022, he was once arrested through the Pawtucket Police Section in Rhode Island for misdemeanor disorderly habits and legal attack of law enforcement officials and alternative officers. He was once convicted and sentenced to 6 months of probation.

On Nov. 20, Meletz Guarcas was once arrested once more and charged with first-degree sexual assault on a kid and 5 counts of second-degree sexual attack on a kid, ICE stated. 

The incident passed off on Sept. 3, government stated.
