Top Canada leaders to meet with Trump aids to discuss tariffs


Two govern Canadian ministers headed to President-elect Trump’s house in Florida on Thursday to speak about border safety and business because the incoming president’s settingup future nears.

Pristine Finance Minister Dominic LeBlanc and International Minister Mélanie Joly might be in Palm Seaside, Florida on Thursday for the talks this past, Jean-Sébastien Comeau, a spokesperson for LeBlanc, instructed the Related Press.

Comeau mentioned that LeBlanc along Joly will meet with Tom Homan, Trump’s incoming “border czar,” upcoming Christmas to talk about Canada’s plan to stock the border as a part of a bid to avoid sweeping tariffs.

The spokesperson mentioned LeBlanc and Joly “look forward to building on the discussions that took place when the Prime Minister met with President Trump at Mar-a-Lago last month, as well as the positive call the Ministers held with Mr. Tom Homan earlier this month.”

In conjunction with discussing border security, the Canadian leaders hope to heart talks on fentanyl trafficking and “negative impacts” of Trump’s price lists on items.

“The Ministers intend to focus on Canada’s efforts to combat fentanyl trafficking and illegal migration and the measures outlined in Canada’s Border Plan, as well as the negative impacts that the imposition of 25% tariffs on Canadian goods would have on both Canada and the United States,” Comeau added in a remark.

Trump has threatened to impose price lists on imports from Canada when he’s taking workplace in January until the rustic reduces the wave of migrants and fentanyl into the U.S.
